Tupec Bridge is one of the 4 Spanish bridges of Laoag: Barit, Tupec, Bulangon and San Mateo, mentioned by Ilocos Norte Civil Governor Camilo Millan in his report on the status of the province in 1887 (the handwritten report is extant at the National Archives of the Philippines).
